Yesterday was supposed to be half a dozen candle holders for someone, nature had different ideas and stock had too many faults for practical use showing up half way through the preparation.
Ended up with a quick consolation spin of a couple of the pieces just to calm the frustration.

Nice work Chas. They turned out great I think! Ive been there, done that sort of thing...I had turned a piece of walnut for a flute...just an ordinary piece I thought...Once turned it had some great figure inside it..And another piece.... a piece of olive wood I had to handle with care as it had some bad places in it but is going to turn out good....... when I finish it...I would turn it and see a bad spot..fill it with sawdust or turquoise inlay...ca glue and come bad later...Some pieces can be challenging..

I like your term consolation spin to calm the frustration lol. I promised myself the same after my most recent experience. My knees are still knocking from a blow up.
Pants are clean though:)

Nice work as usual Chas. Good to see you pop in.
