I think you left out a couple "harumphs", and a few "tsk chhhhhhh" sounds in there. I must say that is one of the nicest funnels I've seen in a while. You're good, man.grumble moan grumble rumble stomp grumble deep breath grumble moan grumble rumble stomp grumble
Here's one solution I used on a walnut funnel I made...you can see the edge of the new quilted maple foot:

Ken, you have an uncanny knack for this turning stuff. Sort of a "turner's intuition", if you will. That's not something a person can learn...you're either born with it or not. I'd bet you'd be a natural with a lathe.Tony, I don't know much about turning, but I would say it is a little thin on the bottom.
