been an interesting few weeks around here. a few weeks back, noticed something odd in the vision of my right eye (also got a reminded for the annual eye doc visit the same day, serendipity or set up?). went to the eye doc, and they found a very small blurry area in the retina, near the optic nerve. off to the specialist we went. after a more intensive exam, at first he thought it may have been the beginning of a cataract, then, after a much closer look, said that i had had a very small stroke in my right eye (teeny tiny blood vessels). off i went, with a recommendation of the baby aspirin regiment, and scheduled a follow up visit for a couple of weeks later. at the follow up, he was surprised to find that the blurry area in the retina was gone, and the one area involved in the field of vision test had greatly improved. he scheduled another follow up for six months from now. with the good news in hand, i decided to make a small joke with him (just me being me, ya know). at first, he said to be on the lookout for changes in vision, and/or odd headaches. so, at the end of the follow up, i told him that there was a bit of a change in my vision, he asked what it was, and in a low, confidential tone, i said, i see silly people... we both had a good laugh at that one. if that wasn't fun enough, i've picked up the same kind of cough that hit me about this time last year, really bad knot in my back from this, along with abused left ribs. luckily, i was able to get the scrip for the really good med that gets rid of it. ain't life just grand some days? :D

Yep, lots of stuff starts happening when you get old! :)

Seriously, it's good you got the attention you needed - glad to hear your vision improved!

LOML has been dealing with the cough and congestion garbage for a week now. So far, I've avoided it!

Always a good thing to be able to see clearly. That crud is running around this area big time. The weather keeps going like a roller coaster, up and down up and down. Gets people all crudded up. Somehow I manage to avoid for the most part but still get a little clogged up now and then.

Glad to see your vision better... I've had a "floater" in my right eye for some time now... some days it looks like a bug flying at my face, other days it's just off to the side and not much bother...

Funny thing about vision as we get older, from the mid-60's right after I got out of the Navy, I had trouble seeing in the distance, so started wearing glasses to drive. I could see very well up close... as I often said, I could see the fuzz on a gnat's butt.... my last two or three eye exams, the vision has reversed.. I no longer need glasses for distance, but have to have reading glasses for close work... go figure.

Now if I could just get rid of the ringing in my ears from my days at the airlines.... for the last 40 years I've had a high pitched tone in both ears... I've seen a couple of doctors and they said "No cure"... my family doctor said try Lipo-flavinoid.... no help. I've learned to ignore it most of the time.
