I just read that there was a problem with the bearings running too hot but there was no elaboration. Has anyone heard of this?

I finally started using mine yesterday and I noticed that it was heating up the PRL plate. I opened the cabinet door and hot air rushed out to meet me.

Am I going to have trouble with this now? Runout problems? Bearings seizing?

Gosh dang caca pooey!!!...........

mark, i`ve been running 7518 routers in a production enviornment for just a couple of years.....no problems here? place a phone call to your local p/c service center on monday and ask them about any bearing trouble....i`d tend to believe a tech before internet gosip.....tod

I have four of the 7537's, D-handles. [No longer made]
2 are in one of my dual tables for rail and stiles.
They have always run warm. Plate gets fairly warm also.
These are around 7 years old now, and the heat apparently does not affect anything.

I first read about it from a post byKeith Outten in a thread that was asking about router recommendations. Apparently this is an issue with newer routers. I did a search after posting this thread last night and found a few references.

PC is aware of this from what I can tell.

Greg, I was running a straight bit and trimming some 1/8" thick edgebanding on cabinet shelves. Very light stuff.

I'll definately call tomorrow morning and see what they have to say.
