    Best "free" design program

    Anyone have a suggestion for a free design program?

    Hi Doug, for pure design, Google SketchUp is about the easiest to learn.

    I've tried most of the freebies I found using Google and didin't get along well with any of them. They either crashed, began to consume system resources the longer they ran, or just lacked fundemental precision.

    Then Google bought the SketchUp company and relased a free version. For woodworking and architectural exploration, it's a good program.
