Thirteen brothers

Wow, those look great, getting that many all the same, or even similar is not an easy thing to do!

Do you have tools to put into the handles?

Great job!

Gracias

Thanks Ed.
Stu, I haven´t any tool to put into the handles yet.
Some time ago I posted a question in one of your
threads. It was about where I could find some steel
similar to the one you used to made your skew.
I haven´t good luck in this search.

I am making a tool using "cold rol" and
inserting at the end a cutter. At the moment
I am not quite sure how I will install the tool
into the handle.
How are you going to do with your skew?
It should be in square or circular form?
Are you going to use glue?
I will apreciate your answers.
Saludos
Alfredo

If the steel is round I leave it round, if it is square, I round over the corners a bit but leave it square.

I make the end that goes in the hole first a little smaller, to start the shaft into the hole, but a hole VERY slightly undersized is good too.

I put the tool shaft in the vice, and then pound the handle onto the tool shaft, use a HEAVY hammer and a block of wood, so you are not POUNDING on the handle directly. If there is any gap around the tool shaft, where is goes into the handle, I'll put some CA glue in there.

The skew is done, I'll post pics soon! :thumb:
