To my family woodworking friends, if you get a chance to look at the sky, this is from stardate.org:

The next meteor shower is the Perseids on August 12. This year there’s no moonlight to interfere. The best time to watch is from 11 p.m. August 12 until dawn the next morning. The best direction to watch is wherever your sky is darkest. If you have a dark sky, you may see a meteor once a minute on average. The shower is also active for several days before and after its peak.

Sounds pretty exciting, at least for me. Good luck viewing.

You guys have all the luck....

Middle of winter here, temp is a bit above freezing, just great for setting up the deck chair and camera on the back lawn... NOT

Might go out for a peek later anyway though

Cheers

The wife and I set out the hammock and a chaise lounge on the yard and watched for a couple of hours.

Not too bad. Saw a few nice 'grazers' that and quite a few small fry.

Called it quit's about 11:30 though. Little late to stay up on a school night.

Wife and I went out saturday night and saw a good half dozen. There were a few baby ones that didn't have any trails - but I saw at least 3 with some very visible trails :)

Very nice!
