Here is another one I completed a couple of weeks ago.

Made from some really nice Padauk. This one is 5" long, 3 3/4" high and 3 1/2" deep.

That's sweet, Bob. You're right...it's really nice padauk, and you did a great job with it. Have you gotten all the orange dust out of the shop yet? :D

Yep, dat is sweet. I too, love padauk but it does not love me. It is one wood that I find very astringent which means that I am probably sensitive to it. Besides it turns all my collars red. But, like your box, sometimes the results are worth a red collar now and again.:thumb:

Bob

Really, relly nice work - you gonna give us any hints on the construction method or is it a trade secret?

Thanks for the nice compliments everyone. This piece of Padauk was super nice and I felt it need to go on a good project to show it as wel as possible.

I guess I may as well fess up and tell on myself. Most of my dusty part of woodworking is done outside. All of my tools are on wheels and I just roll them out the door and let the neighbors worry about the dust when I'm done :D Of course that only works when the weather cooperates.

Now Mike.... I'm going to be keeping a close eye on you around here.... I know for a fact that you are a box expert and I plan on stealing as much info from you as I can find :thumb:

Hey Bob, thats one honey of a box!

I also love boxes, smaller the better for me. In college I had very little work space or tools, so had to get my woodworking fix through little boxes and pistol grips.
