Yep, our local family owned lumber yard sells both the square screws and drivers. I thought you could buy them anywhere. Hmmmm.

BTW, all you Yanks can blame one Mr. Henry Ford for the lack of the Robertson screws in the US.
Robertson invented the screws in 1908, he got his first of many patents in 1909. Some of the first Model Ts used them, Henry Ford wanted exclusive rights, and licensing rights to make them, Robertson refused and Henry Ford made it a personal mission to black ball any company that used Robertson screws. Such was the power of Mr. Ford at the time, that most every business in the US that could used them, did not, in fear of FORD............. one more reason to like Chevy trucks

Seriously though Stu, that is an interesting story, I've always wondered why square drive screws weren't more common. I don't use them because they are so hard to find, but I'd love to be able to.
