Weekend accomplishments

I am still slowly working on remodeling the inside of our house after we were
visited by Hurricane Rita here in southeast Texas. The actual hurricane
damage was repaired by contractors we hired but, like many folks in our area,
many chose to go beyond repairing hurricane damage and remodel their house. We were among those who chose to remodel, so this weekend I primed and painted some of the trim to go inside our house. Also, actually
nailed up a few trim pieces much to my wife's surprise. She is constantly
reminding me that it is fully two years after Rita struck and I still haven't
finished with remodeling the inside. I try to explain to her that quality work
takes time but I don't think she is buying that. BTW- I am making my own
trim rather than buying it from the store.

I helped Ned build his shop. And then I helped Ned build his shop.

In between I ROS'ed a tearout defect from a jewelry box that I am making for my wife. I'll try to remember to take pictures of it in pieces before finishing it to start a new thread. I also bought hinges for it.

A basement stair got repaired with a scrap of 3/4" plywood for support - the overhang part started splitting away - it will need eventual repair. My timeframe for that is about a month before we decide to put the house on the market.

One of our kitchen cabinet drawers (plastic) had suffered a face separation and the epoxy stuff I had tried didn't work. After several months I finally contact cemented it together.

Tomorrow I plan to work more on the jewelry box and install a shelf on the bottom of the router table / bench / assembly table.
