    Is this a Stanley 12 3/4 plane?

I came across this and it looks like a 12 3/4. Does anybody know? It just matches the description of a plane that is on Patrick's Blood and Gore.

Hi Randy. Yep, looks like the 3/4 instead of the 1/2. But--people have long modified 1/2s to resemble the 3/4. And without taking the soles off, it's difficult to tell.

Randy, just a note of netiquette. Often it can be seen as undesirable to point to an auction which is ongoing. Sometimes people who may be bidding on it take offense. This especially can apply to auctions which are mislisted.

No worries Randy. Thank you for removing the link to a live auction--It's a future thing to remember. It's not a rule, just a courtesy thing for down the road.

I would have missed that auction. Never have held a 12 3/4. Pretty cool in its rarity. I have heard they don't work any better and in some cases less well than the 12 and 12 1/2. Possibly why Stanley didn't sell as many of them.

    Take care, Mike

    Randy,
Thanks for the "head up" on this one. I have a 12 in my collection, but have not seen a 12 3/4. I think I must aquire this unique tool.

Hey Joe, I see that the plane sold for over $600, was that you?
