Mark....You always do the prettiest NEs with your seemingly endless supply of walnut! Very well done! I wish I had your skills and your supply of walnut!
 
Yup ... I sure do like this one !!

It seems that walnut has a special look and contrast that lends itself so well to natural edge bowls.

Mark, once again well done:thumb: Do you apply anything to help the bark stay in place or do you just have great luck with it?
 
Mark, one day I might get the bark to stay on mine (I know, it has to do with the time of year it was harvested, but beggars can't be choosers;)). Well done as usual.:thumb:

Yeah, I've been told that, too - that it really makes a difference what time of the year the tree is cut. But I have NEs that were turned from trees cut all throughout the year. In fact, the big round of NEs I turned last year were from a tree that was cut in late Spring and then laid on the ground for a couple of months before I got to it. I turned a NE from that lot over a year after I picked it up and it held just fine.
