I’m confused…

I see them on auction here in Japan all the time, cheap too, but they have a couple of fatal flaws, they basically only work well on softer woods, cedar especially, and it has to be nearly 100% clear, no knots, but they do work as the guy shows, amazing finish too.
Hitachi, and Makita make them, as well as some other specialty industrial tool companies.

Stu, now that you mention it, the piece he’s cutting looks like a clear piece of pine.
It’s still pretty cool though.
