Fat Max Tape Measure

Travis - Its the simple things in life that are important! :D

I have several Stanley tapes. One or two for construction, one in the car, one in the garage, and then my ever protected woodworking tape. It's a 12' Stanley that has a 3/4" tape. Accuracy is fine and it is small for furniture projects.

I also have the usual assortment of bench rulers and squares when I need them.

I guess tapes are like shoes, if it fits wear it!

While I have many tape measures including one in metric what I use for precise work is a Lufkin folding rule with slider that's about 75 years old that was my grandfather's. I use it like a pinch rod for furniture work and find it more reliable and accurate than a tape measure.

Now, for that certifiable part, I don't think I need any extra help. I've been told many times that I'm "certifiable."
