Hi Guys,

Stu gifted me with a few blanks when I visited him in his Dungeon last year and finally (FINALLY!) had chance to turn one of the Sakura blanks. The first picture, although looking like a candle stick, is a weed pot and stands at about 6" tall...

A few inched were left over so I turned a small lidded box...

I have to say that I was thanking Stu under my breath while making these as it is a great wood turn and sands to a really nice smooth texture.

While I was at it, I turned another box from Narra, which wasn't so nice to turn as it's really dry and brittle.

Finally, I purchased some Banksia pods last fall, so I decided to turn a candle stick out of it. Man, do those little chips hurt when they hit you!

Thanks for looking, and as always, comments, advice, and critiques are welcome!

Look good Gari!

I guess you got that DVR figured out eh?

The Sakura is really nice, hard, but nice, I use it for tool handles, but it sure can be pretty :thumb:

Cheers!
