Had to try these things!:D

The bodies are all of birch.

The first one has a walnut finial & basket.

The second has a purpleheart finial & basket.

The third, I used bloodwood.

The one in the middle here I tried something different. I made the basket much deeper and smaller in diameter. In fact, I made it too small and the angle to put the toothpicks in is so tight that I had to cut the toothpicks shorter just to get them in. A little more learning to go. I made the finial & basket of walnut and turned the post from a piece of cedar just to see how it would work out.

These things are a lot of fun to turn and I like trying different designs. May have to try a few more when I get the time. I envy you guys who seem to have something new to show every day.:dunno:

Thanks for looking. Any comments or criticisms are appeciated.

Oh, yeah, sorry about the poor photography again!

Thanks guys! Much appreciated.
Steve, Cody, the slim one is my favorite, too. I was starting to think I was the only one who liked it. If I hadn't made the basket so deep that I can't get a full-length toothpick in it I'd like it a lot better.:D
