well this is the vase I'm making for LOML for her work desk. As you can see I got the square base ready to be turned into a domed shape so I can insert it into the bottom.

Now in this pic (after you stop laughing) as you can see by my thumb I got a little over zealous with the forstner bit. My question is what advice can you give me to save this piece. I have more of the Bubinga as you can see in the first pic. :mad: :-[ :'(

Chuck...nice dual orfice vase! Did you say you intend to turn a bubinga plug for that? Is this your first dual orfice segmented piece?
 
Either do what has already been suggested, or put a couple pieces of curved glass in it and call it a telescope!:D:rofl:

Been there done that, almost. I didn't go ALL the way through.
 
Can you counter bore another hole from the bottom with a larger forstner bit, then turn a plug to glue into it? That way the outside vase appearance wouldn't change, and you'd never see the plug in normal use. Also would use less of the Bubinga. Jim.
