???? What kind of wood is this?

This piece I have, like I said, came from a 2X8X8' board, no knots. I haven't seen much in the way of fruit trees that would produce a board like that. That 18" piece, dry, is about the weight of a piece of wet oak. I turned a flute out of it today and it really finishes out nice. No finish on it yet. Just 400 grit and burnished with wood chips. Here is a picture of it. the other wood is walnut that I added to it. Hope you can see it ok. Jack

It looks like some honey locust I have drying. It is HARD STUFF!!! I hope you like sharpening your gouges!
