Could it be an early attempt to ensure customers bought 'Brand accessories' but still allowed them to advertise 'Morse taper' ?



Do you really think they planned ahead to that extent? At that time, that sized machinery was either Delta/Rockwell or Power Matic. (US market) Not much competition in the downsized industrial market. Anything else was more massive and industrial in size & quality. Still the same parts would interchange. In the last school where I taught, we had Jay Faye & Egan, Oliver as well as Rockwell and PM. All assessories interchanged. Burt we had few "add-ons" mostly utilizing the MT. I think it was a machining setup but the why will never be more than speculation. The "Who Cares" has already surpassed the "What For?" :dunno: Those that decided to have already "Gone over the rainbow with Dorothy and ToTo" :wave:
