Mother´s day presents

Hi,
the 10th of may is the mother´s day here in Mexico.

I have finished a table and gave it as a present to my wife.
I am attaching two pictures of this table.
In the second picture, the table has a glass cover.

The third picture shows two boxes I made for my mothers.
One is for my mother and the second is for an old lady
who I consider her as my second mother.

Also, in the third picture is included an upset "bad boy" who didn´t
receive a present.

Regards
Alfredo

Gord,
I made the legs by my self. I followed a leg design I found in the intenet.

Mohammad,
The boxes are made of white cedar with a danish oil finish.
The table is made of mahogany with red cedar legs.
I used banak as secondary wood.
For the finishing, I tried to follow article about finishing mahogany.
http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/skillsandtechniques/skillsandtechniquespdf.aspx?id=2855
However instead of finishing with shellac I used wiping poliurethane.
Regards
Alfredo

Wow, beautiful Alfredo, the table looks very professional, GREAT!!!
The same for the two lidded boxen.
Oh yeah motherday in Mexico, I was in 2004 in Oaxaca on that day, it was great, a parade of lady's offering drinks to the public and tourists, lucky I took some pictures.

Wow Alfredo, the table is very, very nice. Muy hermosa, mi amigo. :thumb:

I am also certain that the lidded boxes will be very appreciated by both of your mothers, too. (I like your 'bad boy', too.) ;)

That table is great, nice combination of your turning and flatwork skills!

The boxes are really nice, I would not have guessed they were cedar.

Cheers!
