Hello:
I have a 40 +- year old redwood picnic table that is excess to my needs.
The table consists of 7 1-3/4" x 7" X 8' planks.
The benches consist of 4 1-3/4" x 5" x 8' planks (2 x 2 benches).
The table is in great condition - it lived for 30 of it's 40 years in a screen porch covered with felt backed table clothes.
Would it be a sacrilege to cut it up and use the lumber?
I don't have an immediate need for any redwood, but I can invent a project.
I'm not really interested in trying to sell it - I don't know if it would bring much $$$. I should make some sort of keepsake that we can link to Grandma Ida (who kept it in her porch all those years). Ida's stil kicking BTW . . .
Any project suggestions?
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Jim
