Hollowing in KS

This past weekend I was in KS visiting my parents. My dad has made a number of hollowing tools. His latest is a capture rig based loosely off Lyle Jamieson's design.

I tried it out while I was there on some red elm. Works very well. Hollowing can be very hard on the wrists, elbows and shoulders. Not with a rig like this. The hollowing goes much quicker as well. Below are a few pics of the form before finishing and reverse turing. Thanks for letting me try it out dad!

Looking good, Jeff. Once you hollow with a captive rig, it's hard to go back. Looks like your dad's rig works great. Well done Wayne, well done Jeff. :thumb:

Thanks for posting Jeff. I didn't know you were going to do that. I have started working on other piece that we started and gave up. Not sure what will come out of it. We did have a great weekend. :thumb:
