Thinking about a new kitchen

There are tons of resources on the web and in books on building your own. I have amassed all the tools I need to redo my kitchen. Once I had that idea I made some layout changes on paper and I am almost ready to begin construction. I will be tearing down a few (non-bearing) walls and opening up my kitchen so there's an appearance of it being larger than it is. I am going to use granite tile, and I am going to spray paint my cabinets that I will make out of 3/4 ply. Faceframes poplar and drawer fronts and panels MDF. I hope to begin soon. I encourage you to make your own, too. (If you have the time). I'm retired and am very new at woodworking, except for doing some framing for Habitat on Saturdays, which, of course, isn't woodworking.
Anyway, good luck whatever you decide.
