Snazzy red oak gouge handle

I found this piece of red oak crotch in my firewood pile. Once I started turning it I couldn't believe what was inside!

After watching Alan Lacer's "Son of Skew" DVD I tried his method of making the handle - which, incidentally, is exactly the same as Stu's method. I think I'm sticking with my old method next time.

I did think of it, and I actually stopped cutting twice, trying to decide if I should abort the mission and find something plainer for the handle.
