I just don't get it

I wouldn't have, I figure if you stupid enough to bid something higher than what its worth you can pay the shipping also. People get caught up in that I have to win mindset. It's one reason I try to stay away from auctions

I usually agree with that, too!

I felt really bad (stealth gloat warning) because the replacement K3 master system only cost me $50 thanks to rockler and their scratch-off coupon and the rebate. ... i was so far ahead already :D

It's easy to get caught up in the "Must win!" mindset. I usually try to make a bid and then arrange it so that I'm otherwise occupied until after the auction end so that I don't know the results until it is too late.

I did recently lose an auction by $1. That was a bit irritating, but I set a budget and stuck to it.

For some people it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy.
I recently bid on a reversing rotary drum switch for my Woodmaster DS. It was a little beat up looking but the guy said it worked so I bid $20. It went for $52.

I bought a brand new one off the web for $34.25.
Go figure.
