Here are some pictures of trial runs on the old Davis & Wells shaper run in pine to learn how to set it up for making frame & panel doors. This is the first time I've had this machine set up since I got it from Dad. Runs & makes the cut in one pass no problem.

I sure makes a mess I see a DC correction happening soon.

Nice post Bart! I have a shaper in my euro combo machine but, I've not used it yet. Two reasons for this; 1) I'm intimidated by it (3hp of hig speed cutting edges) and 2) tooling up with the various cutter heads is not an inexpensive deal. However, I plan to get a few cutters that would be most used and give it a try.

Looks like it made some nice crisp, clean cuts Bart ;)

I'll bet the ol man would be tickled to know you're using it and it still works so good :thumb:

Well Jim Dad does know I am using it to make doors for a cabinet for him. I had to talk with Dad last evening to help figure out which cutters went together to make the right profile.

Chris I also have a smaller Craftsman shaper that was my Dad's. And a router table in the wing of my Unisaw.
