I am new to the forum but I thought I would share some old iron I have rebuilt. Attached at a Rockwell unisaw, lathe that I converted to electronic variable speed and a disc/belt sander.
I used a Marathon inverter duty motor 1HP 3PH that I purchased on ebay for $70 delivered. The drive I purchased from the following dealer 110v 1PH in and up to 1HP 3PH 220v to the motor http://dealerselectric.com/item.asp?cID=28&PID=428
Than I added separate controls on the lathe with a pilot light, emergency stop, variable speed and forward/stop/reverse. The drive was installed in a 8"x8" metal enclosure with a primary on and off switch.
Here are some pics of the lathe and sander prior to refurb and another shot of the sander with the same profile after the refurb.
