About a month or so back one of the other vendors at the Museum Market offered me some wood... he bought several short logs, two of which had some small burls
about 5 or 6" diameter.... haven't turned them yet, waiting for them to dry a little more... but I did take one of the log blanks and cut these bowls... I didn't plan to leave
a foot on the bowl, but when I did the woodcut core, I think I went too deep and if I had removed the foot I would have had a really nice funnel.
I was able to get 3 bowls out of the one blank. The mother bowl was 9 1/2" diameter by 3 3/4" at the lip, second was 8" x 2 1/2" and the third was 6"x1 1/2".
I don't measure volume.... all are finished in my version of Yorkshire grit under 2 coats of sanding sealer and 2 or 3 coats of wipe on poly.
