Climbing the learning curve

This past summer I bought a beginner CNC machine. It was actually a diy home built unit built by my good friend Ed Ricci. It is a small machine that fits well on my workbench in my small shop. I've never used a CNC before so learning the software is always a challenge for me. Anyway, Ed has been very helpful and patient with me as I ask the same questions over and over. I took some vacation time this week and finally attempted a real project. I made this small lidded jewelry box for my wife. It is 4" x 5" and made from walnut. Lined the inside with felt and added some small feet. I then placed the lid in my laser and added some words and graphics on the lid. Finished it with some walnut Danish oil. Small project that is not perfect but I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to my next CNC project.IMG_6426.jpgIMG_6443.jpgIMG_6449.jpgIMG_6452.jpgIMG_6453.jpgIMG_6454.jpgIMG_6455.jpg
