Crotch Burl Spalted Worm Holes

All that in my little egg project. Now that my lathe is in and I've had a little time to work on it, I thought I would practice my spindle turning. The eggs seemed like a good learning form. The first one looked OK and was kind of blah. You can see more pics of the one below and the first egg on this page.

I'm trying not to use too much bandwidth here.

Wood kinda jumps out at ya. I like it. I have never tried to make on of those.
