I've got dozens of rasps that have never had handles on them, was just easier to store in a drawer for no more than I used them. Since I'll be hanging them up in the hand tool cabinet I figured I might as well make some.
For the ferrules I ordered some brass air hose crimps as they fit the size and shape. They can be ordered in sizes from .380" ID to .937" ID and most are 1" length, but some shorter. They are somewhat on the thin side, so may not work for chisels that take a beating, but probably would be fine on hand chisels.

I'm starting with some of the smaller sizes, .593" ID, for the smaller files and work my way up. I had another file handle I liked the feel of, so started with that shape.

Drilled with the same technique as the chisel handle on did in my other post.

Fitted with the ferrule in place

Finished with BLO

I need to make 4-5 more, which will leave me a spare probably, then will start on some larger ones and a rack for the tool cabinet.
