Sharpening jig

I need a better way to sharpen my bowl gouges. Printed out a template of parts I found online and made this. Based on the “Vari-grind” design. Waiting on some glue to dry before trying it out.

That looks like it'll work fine. The key to using that type of jig is to always have the same amount of gouge sticking out each time you use it, and to have the base/receiving socket the same distance from the grinding wheel. That type of jig makes it a lot easier to have the wings swept back into more of a fingernail/Irish grind , too.

I made one very similar to that,and it works well.
