Best Woodworking Magazine

Now, about Woodcraft. Do you find it to be a good magazine? I've been thinking about adding it to my list.:rofl:

Well, it's ... OK. The most recent issue seemed to have more good stuff than usual.

I "discovered" the magazine when they put a previous year's set on sale (in-store only?) for something like $10. I was too impatient to wait for another whole year to pass to save a few bucks, so I subscribed.

I should probably subscribe to the AAW woodturning magazine, but that requires "joining". Have to think about that....

FWIW, Woodworking Magazine just started a subscription, $20/year for 4 issues. These are high quality printed mags (one of the best IMO), with no advertisement (that's why so few issues per year).

Sign up for their newsletter at http://www.woodworking-magazine.com/ if this interests you. You can't get better articles, IMO.

"Woodwork". Hands down, my favorite for years. From what I gather here, a magazine that is not well known. It has picked up where Fine Woodworking left off many years ago. If focususes on very talented, not quite mainstream woodworkers and their projects and techniques. To date, not one table saw/bandsaw/jigsaw/circular saw/see-saw shootout. None of the rehashed, yearly blather about the most rigorous router bits you should have in your collection or who makes the blue-ribbon blades and the most clenching clamps. It is just about Woodwork and the artisans who excell at it. http://www.woodwork-mag.com/ A very inspiring rag for me. A personal favorite, which doesn't necessarily mean the "best." But I feel more folks should be reading this.
I also subscribe to "Shop Notes," mostly out of nostalgia anymore and to keep my binders complete, since I usually read it cover to cover in less than 1/2 an hour.
