Looks like I am finally gonna get some pecan wood. A 2' diameter branch on a friends tree came part of the way down. Looks like it is time to break out the pulling cables to yank it all the way down. Also, I (crossing fingers and toes) will get some red oak tomorrow. Wheeeeeeeeee!!!

Back when Mom was still alive and lived in Freestone county, she had a huge Pecan tree in her front yard... it died and she had it cut down without calling me.... the size of that tree I could still be turning pecan wood some 10 years later.

I do have a Pecan board in my shop, about 4 or 5 feet long, about 6" wide and 2" thick.... haven't decided what I want to do with it.... might cut and paste to make up some pepper mill blanks as soon as I get back to the shop.
