The hair is fake fur that can be purchased at a fabric store or hobby shop. It's on a fabric backing. I use hot melt glue to attach it to the gnomes I've built.Cool looking ones! I wish you had posted how you make them, specially how you attach the hair to make it look so natural.
That is where I got from.Gonk turning on the YouTube.
I do it pretty similar, except I just make a little hole in the fur with a hole punch and glue the ball nose to the "barrel" of the gnome. And I buy the wooden balls pre-made at a hobby shop like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Thanks Vaughn. May presume that the way of making them is as in the attached sketch?

Thanks Ted. I wasn't that far from it. I assumed that the hair would cover everythin so I didn't think it would be necessary to make the head shape. Here you can see that I'm no turner.Gonk turning on the YouTube.
I hadn't ever seen that video. She makes hers a lot more fancy (and a bit more complicated) that I do for mine. Mine are a single piece of wood, and the "head" is just a tapered cylinder. It just takes a few minutes to turn each one. Then I cover the cylinder with the fur all the way around. Thanks Ted. I wasn't that far from it.
