Texans must be brisket hogs. Smoked two for a get together and all gone. Along with some burgers and dogs, beans, salads, etc.... Hmmmph. No leftovers today. uhuh Must be that thar virus thingie!

As the chef, you control what's ready and when, right? Nothing wrong with having a special container in which you stash the "chef's share".

I'm not a Texan (profess to be a Kansan) but brisket is certainly my favorite. But man, 2 of them? that must have been 4 or 5 folks!

There was supposed to only be 5 of us, but two others showed up unexpectedly. I usually smoke the trimmed briskets nowadays. But these weighed about 8 lbs before smoking. So I figger there was about 11-12 lbs of meat going by the way the tray felt weight wise when I brought them in the house to slice up. Admittedly they were yummy. Only one took some with them for their brother who just got out of the hospital. That's still a lot of meat considering all the burgers were gone as well. Jeez! It was fun though.
