Table critique (pics)

Thanks for the reply, Bill. I don't anticipate movement in mesquite so I rarely give it a thought... but what you say certainly makes sense. :thumb:

Mesquite is a tough olde bird but it too will move, more slowly than most and perhaps a lifetime to tell the difference, but it Do infuse and defuse moisture content and with such it will (ever so slight) "Move". (when you least expect it... ):huh:

I can't speak for a lifetime, but I've seen 40" wide mesquite tables we made with solidly glued end caps (as opposed to tenoned/pegged breadboard ends) several years ago where you can't feel that joint with the edge of a credit card. I knew it wouldn't be as noticeable as some other woods, but I was surprised to not see ANY difference at those joints.
