I'm back on the injured reserve list.........

stu, while youre sitting back and recup'ing, maybe you can answer a quick question for me.
If I use spanish cedar for a humidor, does it make any difference if I line the inside of any wood with it, or if I just use the cedar as the walls of the box itself?
does it make a difference if I glue it to the inside walls of another lumber species?

Allen, most every humidor, well "good" humidor is lined with Spanish Cedar. The lining is usually about 1/4" thick, it really does not need to be thicker than that.

Do NOT glue the Spanish Cedar to the wood the humidor is made from, think about it, there is a LOT of humidity going on in a humidor, well, it should remain at about 70%, so you do NOT want things glued in place.

The good humidors have things cut to fit exactly and they slide into place, the sides hold the bottom in place etc.

I hope that answers the question

Glad to here you're on the mend, my friend.

I don't know what my lathe will think with the long break. Maybe the kids can keep here company:D.

Keep healing, bud:wave:.
