I mowed the lawn, trimmed around the edges and cut the hedges. Then I cleaned up all the debris and put away my tools.

I went in the house and asked the lady to pay me.

She said, "No!"

I asked her, "Why not?"

Part of your problem, clip the hedges, weed eat and then mow the lawn. No clean up this way!!!! (and if there looks like clean up is still needed, go over the affected area a time or two more with the mower!)

That is a good plan for most grasses but centipede, which is what we have in our lawn, does not respond well to leaving the clippings, no matter how fine, on the lawn.

My wife used to use a push mower to mow the front yard. I would go out on the front porch and sit in the shade and watch her.

One day she shut off the mower and came over and said, "You shouldn't be sitting there in the shade watching me!"

So I picked up my folding lawn chair and moved to the back porch.

I suspected that line might backfire on me, lol. I can relate, though. I wash more dishes than she does (because I don't use paper plates like she does), and we each do our own laundry.
