I don't know if any of have seen the white dots that appear on the crossings after staring at it for a few seconds.
It is a well know optical effect more extreme when the squares are black, but it works equally well with white ones.

Your fix is much worse than the original and the original is bad enough!
If I print your fix and color the boxes it is even worse......
